Also look what I came home to after hours of shopping

DSCF1984 By the time I got home the wall of the house was finished with two coats of paint.  still have the eaves and the bottom bits to go.  Imagine my deck where the doors are , cant wait until that is built.  Tony got the kids up at a decent hour and they all went to work .  I must say I was very impressed.

Catching Up

I braved the crowds today and what can I say it was such a painful experience,  I guess I'm just not  a shopper.  I've just got one more gift to get,  the shop had sold out but assures me he will have more in tomorrow.  I hope so or I'm in trouble lol.

Photo of the day   5/12/08

DSCF1643  I cant believe this is the only photo I took this day.  I couldn't get a park and poor Matt (with his broken arm ) and Tess had to struggle with all her costumes and props.  They had to walk up two flights of stairs lol.

6/12/08

Wasn't sure what photo to go with today.  Tess and her dance school performed at the Pelican Waters Christmas Carols.  They had rehearsals from 10am and where there until after 9pm it was a very hot day.  I don't think we will be doing this next year.  Every year they have two celebrities and they sign autographs etc.  Now as Channel 7 sponsor this they are always stars from Home and Away .  I have to confess I had never heard of Lincoln Lewis but he was a very nice young man taking the time with each child talking with them and having  photo's taken.

DSCF1947 We said goodbye to Grandma today, we enjoyed her being here and am sad to see her go.  Wrapped pressies today.  I wrapped the gifts then put them in a box then wrapped the box lol.  Waste of paper I know but I always find presents with holes in the paper so I've tricked them this year lol.

DSCF1906   Lucy's graduation Day cant believe she starts high school next year.  I really had a tough time getting photo's at school so this was taken at home.  I should have moved the bike that's in the background lol

DSCF1762 Great shot of the heads of the two people in front of me lol

DSCF1955 Matt got his new cast on today.  Four weeks to go and it's driving him nuts.

Had two delightful visitors today, Aaryn and Cameron .  They swam all day, Lucy had a ball.

12/12DSCF1928

Scrapped at Tess' last night and finished off my Christmas cards.  No I didn't do all these in one night lol.  Had a small street party at one of the neighbours houses.  Well I should say all the normal neighbours had a get together lol.  We had a fantastic night I wished I had taken my camera.

13/12DSCF1901

Went to the Mooloolaba Surf Club for lunch with some friends.  Had a really enjoyable couple of hours and the kids were able to swim at the beach while we relaxed in the club.

DSCF1914 I have always wanted a Christmas Wreath for my front door.  Last year Nanny gave me $50 for Christmas I left it in the card and then couldn't find the card.  I came across it only a few weeks ago just after I had seen this wreath in Myers so I promptly went back and got it. It's pretty neat as it has little read lights.

15/12

waitingHad to laugh at this.  How many scrapping layouts do you see where the child is looking out the window waiting for dad to come home.  Well Fred loves his dad and as soon as he heard the truck pull up he jumped up on the window looking for dad rofl.

Another hot day so what is there to do but go for a swim.DSCF1810

These little seedlings were only planted a little time ago.  My veggie gardens not ready yet so I planted them in these.  There are a few different varieties of lettuce in there.  We also planted some basil and parsley in another box.

18/12

DSCF1940 I don't buy much scrapping stuff these days.  I guess one needs to do a bit of scrapping to justify this lol.  I did however buy a few goodies as I wanted to get a start with my diary that all these photo's are going into.

Photo a Day Challenge

DSCF1647

Ive been taking heaps of photo's but havent had time to upload them.  My photo for the 3rd Of December is of my mum and Lucy.  She came to stay for a week and this was taken at the airport.  She had to fly from Wagga ( plane was delayed an hour)to Sydney then catch another flight to Maroochydore.  I got to the airport at 2pm to pick her up and firstly found out the flight was late.  By 2.30 I was  deciding to leave as I had to pick Lucy up from school then I noticed that the flight had been diverted to Brisbane.  Finding someone that knew what was going on and was told they  would be arriving by bus in about two hours  (right during peak hour)  So poor Jen looked tired when she finally arrived.  We quickly drove home then I had to get Lucy to concert rehearsal and had to hang around until 9pm until they finished.

4/12/08

We had planned to go Christmas shopping but when I woke up I felt like I had the flu and felt pretty crook so decided not to go.  I had some sewing to do on Tess' tutu I had to sew the overlay on and her leotard straps.  Im not a sewer, leotards I can do but this scared the hell out of me lol.  I only had to tack it on so Jen started on one side me on the other and we met in the middle lol.  What always annoys me if Im paying $100 for a costume well I except it to be done I dont want to have to add things onto it lol.

5/12/08

This is the only photo I took and it's not a good one.  Tess and Lucy before we left for their end of year dancing concert.  They wouldnt take the time for me to get a pic of them.  Cant say I blame them.  Lucy gave up dancing a few years ago but took up hip hop this year.

Best Wishes, Broken Bones and Christmas Parties

DSCF1472 As it is for most at this time of year another very busy week has passed us by.

Firstly I have been thinking of this beautiful lady ALL DAY.  Hope everything went well today Tess.

This is what happens when you are flying down a really really steep hill at a hundred miles an hour on your pushbike and as you throw yourself into the corner you realise that your brakes don't work.  You come to a certain amount of grief.  Surprisingly he's not missing as much skin as he should have been.  A lovely lady called Teena that saw the accident and stopped to help Matt said all he was worried about was had he damaged his new phone and new clothes, these were unscathed.  Never mind that his wrist was in a very unnatural position and just flopping around lol.  She called me at work which fortunately is only five minutes away so I drove down and we waited over an hour for the ambulance by this time the poor boy was in a lot of pain and in shock . It is only a five minute drive to the hospital.  I was going to drive him but he felt that I might cause more pain to his arm.  What is he trying to tell me lol I would have driven slowly.

DSCF1614 We eventually made it to emergency and after being in there for four and a half hours they decided that he would need to be operated on.  This happened last Tuesday and Matt didn't have his operation until Thursday morning  where they had to put a plate into his arm and eventually was allowed to come home on Friday night.  He is having this cast removed in a week or two and a proper one put on.  So his summer is going to be very hot, sticky and very uncomfortable.

As some of you know Lucy attends the Integration Centre at school ( special ed) and is entitled to free bus transport to and from school.  Her lovely bus driver Peter and carer Marilyn arranged a Christmas luncheon for all the children and their families at Tranquil Park, Maleny.  I have been here before when I attended a Folk Art retreat many years ago.  Unfortunately it was a bit overcast on a fine day you can see all the way to Brisbane

DSCF1568

It was really nice to meet all the families they were the nicest people and lunch was delicious.  Below is the kids with Peter and Marilyn.

Challenge

I'm participating in Tracey's  challenge   over at Aussie layouts.  Her challenge is to take a photo everyday for the month of  December.  I'm taking it one step further after seeing this 365 day diary on Mazza's blog and then seeing how Pip Prosser used the diary to make her gorgeous son Freddie a beautiful keepsake

pi_17106

I decided to take a photo everyday for the next twelve months.  Nothing elaborate just a simple record of our everyday life for the next year.  Unfortunately I'm not going to get this started for the next week or two but I am taking photo's lol.

My first photo for the month was taken on the 1st at my eldest DD's ballet rehearsals.  I worked up in the dressing rooms it was such a long night starting at 4.30 and finishing at 9.30.  These girls were exhausted by the end of it but I felt really sorry for the little kids(and their parents lol) and we get to do it all again on Wednesday

DSCF1615

I'm on holidays now for the next nine days.  I haven't had any time off this year except for a couple of sick days so I'm really hanging out for this time off.  Unfortunately it's one of the busiest weeks of the year for us but I really love this time of year .

My photo for the 2nd isn't the best I really needed my tripod but that's high up in the shed and I wasn't  trying to get it down tonight lol. We put the tree up on the weekend, earliest we have been for years lol I've decided to stick with just two colours red and gold, it still needs some finishing touches.

christmas lights I must straighten the star on top of the tree lol.

Cricket Starts Today

Is that a bit sad that I look forward to this lol. I count down the days until the first test starts.   To me that signifies the start of summer . I think I may need a life.

A few photo's for Grandma and Grandpa of Tess in her new school uniform.  She wasn't being very co- operative this morning.

She was either holding her skirt or  tilting her head to one side lol

Anyway better get moving I thought I didn't have to go out today but I do

Busy Couple Of Days

What a busy week this week is turning out to be.  Tomorrow is my day off and I'm really glad that I'm staying at home.  Monday was Tess' birthday and she had a morning tea which was really lovely so much yummy food and great company.  Hope you had a fantastic day Tess.

These photo's didn't turn out so good as the light wasn't the best and I'm still not real sure how to use my camera. lol

DSCF1550 DSCF1539   I think this beautiful girl wanted some of the food, she was feeling very left out being locked outside.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIVVY.

I had a big cleaning day planned for Tuesday after work I wanted to clean the house then clean out Lucy's cupboards.  She is such a pack rat the stuff that girl collects astounds me.  I can see her as an old woman surrounded by animals in a house full of junk.  I got a call from my hair dresser telling me she was closing her business on Thursday (I had an appointment next week) and that she had a cancellation and would I like to go that afternoon.  Well I'm not going to say no.  So I spent a relaxing couple of hours with her.  She has been my hair dresser for so long I don't know what I'm going to do without her.  She's moving an hour away and will be working one day a week so I guess I could manage the trip every couple of months.

A few weeks ago we decided to move Tess to another school next year.  She's been having trouble with a group of feral's and was miserable at school.  I was going to pull her out for the rest of the year but didn't really want her to miss three weeks.  So Monday night I rang the new school and asked her if they would take her this week so she started this morning.    After I finished work  I flew home and drove her to school which is 30Kms away to buy her  some uniforms.  It was so nice to see her happy after school she had a great day.  She couldn't get over how nice everybody was.  Some year 11 girls saw us in the office and at morning tea they went looking for Tess to make sure she was okay and that she wasn't having morning tea on her own.  How nice was that.  I noticed this morning even the kids looked happier at this school.  Fingers crossed that she will settle in and start to enjoy school.   So today I didn't get much done although I did manage to swap my foodstuffs and crockery cupboards around.     Had  a really nice dinner tonight cauliflower fritters and noodle salad.  Yum

Early Birthday Celebrations

My  dear friend Tess is celebrating her birthday tomorrow so naturally as one does we started early.  We went here.   Penefathings, Montville  is one of my favourite places to go for a meal and a bonus is it's close to home.

DSCF1496 DSCF1493Here's the birthday girl having her First wine.

I had a lovely vegetarian risotto which was really yummy and very filling, the birthday cake was divine.  I was a lovely way to spend a Sunday.  It was really hot and muggy (I'm so not ready for this yet) when we got home we took the kids and the dog down to the Obi Obi for a swim.

Have a great week, the stormclouds are gathering and it's getting very dark very quickly so I had best get off here.

Well Ive finally done something that I vowed I probably would never do. Start a blog lol. Hi Tess, dont die of shock. I have no idea yet how to pretty this up, add bits and pieces etc etc and instead of doing this I should be sewing on ribbons to pointe shoes but this is so much more interesting. I think I will go and make a cuppa and then have a play around with this
