First Day of High School

Well the day has finally come.  Lucy is in high school.  She was so excited she woke up at 5.30 and was fully dressed fifteen minutes later.  I hope her enthusiasm lasts.

It wasn't until I loaded the photo's onto the computer that I realised I didn't get a decent photo of Lucy on her own.  Tess came out and wanted her photo taken with them and I got sidetracked.  Will have to try this afternoon lol.

Here's Lucy and Hannah they have known each other since they were about 3 years old.

Happy Birthday Izzy

Tess let me down badly she was suposed to take a photo of Izzy and send it to me so I could post it here.  She was too busy having a good time and only sent me one which wasnt the best lol.

Anyway have a fantatic day Izz.

Happy birthday Tony

Tony reached the big 42, mind you he had to ask me how old he was lol.

We had a fantastic night.  Lucy and I wanted to go to The Grinning Dog, Maroochydore for dinner but we ended up going to Trader Dukes.  I had never been there before , what a great pub, very family orientated.  They had a girl signing and she was fantastic.  Not only could she sing but she was a real entertainer, we had an absolute ball.  At one stage Linda, Kim and I played percussion with her.  lolDSCF2352

How yummy does   this look and it was delicious , a little too much sauce on the fish perhaps  but other than that very  nice.

We finished the night up at Sonja's (she couldn't join us as she is in hospital) for cake and a cuppa.  Hope you had a great day Tony.

Leaving On a Jet Plane

This year it was Tess' turn to go to grandma and grandpa's place in Wagga.  Usually the girls go for a few weeks but due to ballet summer school Tess was only able to go for a week.  Last Saturday (17.1.09) she flew from Brisbane to Canberra where she met Jen and David then they drive to Wagga.  If she flew direct from the Sunshine Coast to Wagga it's either via Sydney or Melbourne and I don't think she needed the stress of changing planes.  Next trip she will be 17 so she should be able to manage that then lol.  She has been looking forward to this holiday for so long.

Holidays

Here we are it's nearly the end of January, school starts next week not that I've been counting down the days lol.  We had a great Christmas, new year so I will just share some photo's.

December1

We celebrated Christmas eve at Sonja's not our usual large dinner but a lovely evening  just the same.

Christmas was spent at Kim and Michael's place.  Kim did an amazing lunch ,  the food was beautiful.

December2

The kids did extremely well this christmas, phone's , Mp3's and lots of other goodies.  Tony scored a HD television and I got the much wanted butcher's block.

On the 27th Tony took the kids out to Kenilworth  Homestead joined them a few days later but I had  (and needed) a couple of days home alone.  This was a fantastic place to camp.  It has very basic amenities although there were a few cabins which I believe were really nice.  Great swimming holes and you are only a couple of km's out of Kenilworth.  The best thing we were only 20 minutes from home.

Kenilworth

We really had a fantastic time.  We caught up with Brad and Gina who I hadn't seen for about 12 years and they only live an hour and a half away.

That's our Christmas we are slowly settling into normal  routine again.

Also look what I came home to after hours of shopping

DSCF1984 By the time I got home the wall of the house was finished with two coats of paint.  still have the eaves and the bottom bits to go.  Imagine my deck where the doors are , cant wait until that is built.  Tony got the kids up at a decent hour and they all went to work .  I must say I was very impressed.

Bye for now

Catching Up

I braved the crowds today and what can I say it was such a painful experience,  I guess I'm just not  a shopper.  I've just got one more gift to get,  the shop had sold out but assures me he will have more in tomorrow.  I hope so or I'm in trouble lol.

Photo of the day   5/12/08

DSCF1643  I cant believe this is the only photo I took this day.  I couldn't get a park and poor Matt (with his broken arm ) and Tess had to struggle with all her costumes and props.  They had to walk up two flights of stairs lol.

6/12/08

Wasn't sure what photo to go with today.  Tess and her dance school performed at the Pelican Waters Christmas Carols.  They had rehearsals from 10am and where there until after 9pm it was a very hot day.  I don't think we will be doing this next year.  Every year they have two celebrities and they sign autographs etc.  Now as Channel 7 sponsor this they are always stars from Home and Away .  I have to confess I had never heard of Lincoln Lewis but he was a very nice young man taking the time with each child talking with them and having  photo's taken.

8/12

DSCF1947 We said goodbye to Grandma today, we enjoyed her being here and am sad to see her go.  Wrapped pressies today.  I wrapped the gifts then put them in a box then wrapped the box lol.  Waste of paper I know but I always find presents with holes in the paper so I've tricked them this year lol.

DSCF1906   Lucy's graduation Day cant believe she starts high school next year.  I really had a tough time getting photo's at school so this was taken at home.  I should have moved the bike that's in the background lol

DSCF1762 Great shot of the heads of the two people in front of me lol

DSCF1955 Matt got his new cast on today.  Four weeks to go and it's driving him nuts.

simming

Had two delightful visitors today, Aaryn and Cameron .  They swam all day, Lucy had a ball.

12/12DSCF1928

Scrapped at Tess' last night and finished off my Christmas cards.  No I didn't do all these in one night lol.  Had a small street party at one of the neighbours houses.  Well I should say all the normal neighbours had a get together lol.  We had a fantastic night I wished I had taken my camera.

13/12DSCF1901

Went to the Mooloolaba Surf Club for lunch with some friends.  Had a really enjoyable couple of hours and the kids were able to swim at the beach while we relaxed in the club.

DSCF1914 I have always wanted a Christmas Wreath for my front door.  Last year Nanny gave me $50 for Christmas I left it in the card and then couldn't find the card.  I came across it only a few weeks ago just after I had seen this wreath in Myers so I promptly went back and got it. It's pretty neat as it has little read lights.

15/12

waitingHad to laugh at this.  How many scrapping layouts do you see where the child is looking out the window waiting for dad to come home.  Well Fred loves his dad and as soon as he heard the truck pull up he jumped up on the window looking for dad rofl.

16/12

Another hot day so what is there to do but go for a swim.DSCF1810

DSCF1935

These little seedlings were only planted a little time ago.  My veggie gardens not ready yet so I planted them in these.  There are a few different varieties of lettuce in there.  We also planted some basil and parsley in another box.

18/12

DSCF1940 I don't buy much scrapping stuff these days.  I guess one needs to do a bit of scrapping to justify this lol.  I did however buy a few goodies as I wanted to get a start with my diary that all these photo's are going into.
