HAPPY BIRTHDAY TESS

16 years ago today my gorgeous daughter was born.

 

 

 

 

 

 

She was such an easy baby, slept through the night at 3 days old, didnt cry much and fed well.  I dont know why I was looking so tired in the photo lol.  It wasnt from lack of sleep.  All that fell apart when she hit 6 months.  Didnt sleep much and  would only go to sleep while being breast fed.  Then she discovered movement, she never stopped, always on the go, would sit still for a minute.  She didnt go to sleep until after 10pm, (closer to midnight I wonder who she gets that from lol) then awake again at 5am.  Daytime sleeps, what were they, she would have one if we were lucky.

She was such a handful, nothing could keep her in, no child proof gate, no fence, no security doors, nothing

   The only time she slowed down was the day she burnt both the bottom’s of her feet, she had two huge blisters and couldnt walk on them.

Am I mean to say it was a great couple of days I could actually go shopping with her lol. She soon discovered on day three if she walked on the side of her feet she could get around. 

Then there was the time she went missing (She had only just turned three).  She was gone for about an hour , Tony had called the police who in turn called the SES and they were just about to call the helicopter as it was late afternoon .  She and the dog had walked past all these dams, through paddocks to a neighbours property.  The old guy found her but the dog wouldnt let him near her he stayed with them until  Tony’s nephew found them.  Tony said to her you are in so much trouble.  Why she said Iwas just taking the dog for a walk lol.

 

Max didnt like Tess much but he was always with her which was a godsend because if I could see the dog I always knew where she was.

So in an attempt to harness some of her energy, teach her some discipline and self  control  (many suggested she might be ADD and should be on medication)  I sent her to ballet.  She was such a cute little ballerina lol

Funny enough she seemed to lose that energy when she hit 13 lol

The next two photos are the only recent ones I have of her.  She’s not going to like them.  We are going out to dinner tonight so I might wait until she’s dressed up nicely and take another photo.  This photo was taken after she had finished dancing at the eisteddfod on Monday morning.

Yeah It’s the Weekend

How quick are the weeks flying by.  This weeks weather has been awful.  I don't know why they call here the Sunshine Coast as all it does in summer is rain.  Not that I'm complaining my water tank is full and the garden is watered.  Parts of the northern coast had over 400 mls that’s amazing.  We are used to getting 100 to 200 mls in a day but 400ml wow.  On one part of the coast someone reported having 800 ml .  The yellow patch stayed in the one spot for most of the day.

This was how misty it was here all day.  It was worse up on the main road.  This photo was taken at 4.30 in the afternoon.  I wished I had my camera with me when I went to pick Tess up from the bus stop in Montville.

I wanted to get a lot done this weekend but with Tess having ballet rehearsals in  Caloundra this afternoon 11.30 until 4pm then a trip to IKEA tomorrow I don't know if I'm going to get a lot done.  I had planned to catch up with scrapping my Daily photo’s in my 365 diary but I fell asleep on the lounge while watching the footy last night.  I have the sorest neck today lol.  I was going to drop Tess off and have Tony pick her up but the dance school is close to Spotlight and another one of my favourite shops I thought I might go shopping.    I'm sure the hours will pass in no time lol.  Thought I might share some layouts that I did last weekend.

I have now a grand total of three layouts for my holiday album of our 2007 trip lol.  I have less than eight weeks to get it finished. I think I'm going to have to sit down and plan it out and have a marathon scrapping session.  This album is going to be fairly simple with similar colour combinations through out.  This page is the first of a double layout but it fitted into a challenge at The Scrap Heap so will have to finish the other side soon lol.

 

I made these the other day.  I was inspired by someone but cant remember whose blog it was.

I'm so sick  of  school and ballet notes going missing I made one for each girl.

I went to one of my favourite shops.   So unfortunate that it happens to be right across from Tess’ bus stop lol.

I don't sew but am going to teach myself.  I also booked into a patchwork class that starts on the 20th of April.  I've always wanted to learn to make quilts but never got around to it. 

I also went to The Patchwork Angel, Forest Glen and had a browse I was looking for an easy kit to start with.  I asked the lady and she showed me this and assured me that I would be able to make it.

Hmmm we will see, I left the store with these.

Last weekend Tony went to Goondiwindi to race, Tess was busy so Lucy and I walked into town and had lunch at one of the coffee shop’s Criollos Chocolaterie it was rather nice.  We sat upstairs and this was our view.  On a clear day you can see the ocean but it was raining.

Received a surprise cheque in the mail the other day so what’s  a girl to do but go the local scrapping shop and have just a bit of a spend.  My local store is Daisy Chain in Nambour  So what did I buy? These very yummy goodies.

Yes I know there a lot of rub ons and journaling blocks but they are for my 365 diary I'm trying to keep the book non bulky lol.

Lastly it was a very good mail day yesterday I received not one but three pizza boxes in the mail.  Oh Happy days, cant wait until Easter when I have five days off and I don't mind at all if it keeps raining.

This has turned into a novel.  Bye for now

I Scrapped

Thought I would share some layouts.  Some of these are really basic but with my mojo gone for so long I needed to do something simple lol.

Men  gathered around the fire  and the webber trying to work out how they were going to cook two roasts.  Why do they do this?  Mind you dinner was delicious.  This was taken at Kenilworth homestead in January, we spent a couple of days camping.

Wasn't she cute,  Lucy when she was five  in the other photo she is 12.

I made the layout above using Pip Prosser  ‘s monthly kit’s.  I have been buying her kits for a few months now and I love them.  You can check them out at her store

Cut and Paste .   I've had a fairly productive weekend.  I managed to do a few pages in my 365 Diary and embellished two clipboards..  I hope to get a few more pages done tomorrow.

Catch up

My how time flies cant believe it's been this long since I've visited my blog.  Life just gets in the way lol.  Firstly this little guy turned two on the 12th of February.

Not the 17th (isn't that right Jen lol).  This is my nephew Darcy.  I really wished I lived closer to them and could see them more often. 

Well nothing interesting has really happened just back into the normal after Christmas holidays routine.  Tess' dancing is back in full swing, more full on than last year if that's possible.  Lot's and lots of rehearsals in preparation for the May eisteddfod.

We have had Greg Miller take our dancing photo's for years.  Actually most of the dancing school's on the Sunshine Coast use him.  Love his photo's except the colour of his backgrounds make scrapping her dancing photo's a little bit difficult so I changed this one to black and white.

My scrapping mojo has returned I hadn't scrapped in months and have finally scrapped five layouts in two  weeks lol.  I will put them on here later this week.  I'm still doing my photo a day although February wasn't the best but I've been very diligent with March so far.  Problem is I have to scrap them in my diary. I've almost finished January lol.  Another challenge I've given myself is I want to finish (and start) my holiday album from our trip to Alice Springs in 2007 before we go to Alice Springs this year June long weekend.  I have done a mini album but want to do a more indepth album.  Will I get it done.

On Tuesday we went to Tess' house to get our hair done.  I had promised Lucy that she could get streaks in her hair. It turned out lovely.

 

 

 

 

Tess dyed her hair and it didn't quite work out.  I told her not to but she does her own thing and never listens.  She is 15  need I say more. So it was Katie to the rescue I must admit It's better than what it was, at least it's not orange lol it also has a dark bit at the back.

Stay tuned for the after shots.  Tess is doing it for our dear friend Heather who passed away last year.  We miss her every day.

In other news our house guest Matt left us I must admit it felt strange not having him around or having the caravan in the back yard.  He has since gotten a job and is living at Lowood but comes to visit every couple of weekends.

Last weekend we had dinner at Cottontree.  It was a lovely evening.

 

 

How hard was it to get a nice photo of the three of them, almost impossible lol

 

 

Has anyone been watching the cricket as I no longer have pay tv I have been listening to the ABC radio.  Hasn't it been fantastic.  Love it.  Football season starts next week, cant wait.  Go the Roosters.
