I was in a hurry and went to go out my front gate and this little fellow was sitting there and had no intention of moving .
Look how long he was.
He’s the only snake I’ve seen around our house this summer. Thank goodness. I THINK he is a tree snake.

It hasn't stopped it just keeps raining. Rather ironic they call us the Sunshine Coast. As much as I love the rain even I am feeling the need for a day of sunshine.
When we first moved here 14 years ago, we were bringing some stuff to the house and when we got to the top of the range Tess who was 3 1/2yrs old said “Mummy we are going to live in the clouds. Well she wasn't wrong, it’s as misty as I have ever seen it.
There should be hills in the background. No Jen I wasn't taking photo’s while I was driving Tess took this one.
This is looking from the Post office toward the pub. These were taken about 4.30pm but it’s been like this for days.
My poor pool looks awful and it overflowed several times. We wont be swimming in this anytime soon, well not until Tony puts some stuff in it to clear it up.
Anyway we cant complain the tanks are overflowing which means I can wash curtains, cushion covers etc and we can take slightly longer showers lol. We never water our garden so it’s had an extremely good soaking.
On Friday I was sick and tired of being stuck in the house so Tess and I went for a drive to Pomona to check out a couple of second hand shops. What can I say I thought I had died and gone to heaven . Wished I had a heap of money to spend my goodness they had some excellent stuff. I was very restrained lol. They were called Rockin Relics and Juicy Junk great names , I will definitely be going back there. It was funny we went to a couple of op shops and in one of them I got taking to a lady she was the one that told me about the second hand stores, she was saying she phoned one of them and was going to sell them a heap of stuff including a huge mirror. Now my ears pricked up as I have been looking for a really big mirror for a few months and haven't had any luck. Any way she gave me her address and I went around and saw her husband and I am now the owner of a really large mirror lol. I wasn't able to take it home with me as I had to go to Kawana later that afternoon to pick up a filing cabinet. So I had to go back on Saturday which was such a shame as I had more time to go back to Rockin Relics and Juicy Junk. lol. I will take a photo of the mirror tomorrow. The plan is to put it in my really small lounge room in the hope that it will make it appear bigger.
Spent a bit of money on big things this week, on Wednesday my washing machine decided to die, Tony who can fix anything had to admit defeat so now I am the proud owner of a flash new machine.
We had to go to Harvey Norman’s warehouse which happened to be near Recollections which was the only place that I could find that had white timber filing cabinets which I desperately needed. So we went and got that to. Only problem was I couldn't fit both things in the back of the car lol. So I have been down to the coast three times this week. Actually it’s been four as my chiropractor is on the coast too. Over the years I've been lucky to drive down there no more than about 6 times a year. I'm doing that in a week now .
Anyway time for bed I'm having trouble typing
Bye for now
Jackie
I haven't updated for a while, I live a pretty boring life lol.
We celebrated Jame’s 40th birthday at The Boat Shed, Cotton Tree and had a very nice meal. I didn't take any photo’s as I only knew a few people there. It was a gorgeous spot right on the Maroochy River.
I needed a photo of the girls together to complete a layout I was doing last weekend and they reluctantly posed for me. What an effort that was.
They always whinge that I take so many photo’s that’s because out of ten I might get two good ones because they stuff around that much lol
Tess started work at a coffee shop yesterday in Montville. She spent the day learning to make coffees, she enjoyed that. Her boss rang up this morning to see if she could go in today. She’s nervous about going in today and is hoping she’s not on her own as Sunday is the busiest day. It looks like she will be working three days a week and going to full time dance school for three days a week (that doesn't make sense does it lol) She hates school and just doesn't want to be there. I guess I have to accept that school isn't for everyone unfortunately.
Lucy is enjoying school especially agriculture studies. She helps look after the miniature ponies three days a week. She is hoping to get picked for the show team this year I don't know if they show the ponies but the school has a very successful cattle team. Lucy has a friend who owns a dairy farm and Lucy has competed in a competition before where she got a second place or her calf got second place. Our friend that owns a Kennel and Cattery business in Eumundi just happen to buy five miniature ponies for his property. Lucy goes out there to stay some holidays to help with the dogs so she was over the moon when they told her about the ponies. She just loves animals
I have been scrapping a little bit the last couple of weeks I went to Tess’ last weekend and didn't get a lot of scrapping done but I had a good night.
I have been painting again. Friday I really got the urge and manage to repaint my eight frames they were white and I decided to change them to black. I painted a cane basket and a bookcase . Unfortunately Tony kicked me out of the shed yesterday, he needs to work on his race car and as it was raining I had no where else to go. I still have a bookcase to finish and another three tiered cane basket. Hopefully I will get the shed back tomorrow.
Here’s a couple of layouts that I have done. All are from Pip Prossers kits at Cut and Paste
Sorry about the quality of the scans I have a new scan and stitching programme and am struggling a to bit with it it’s not as easy as my old one.
I had a pretty ordinary week this week but the highlight was definitely going to the one day cricket match between Australia and the West Indies at the Gabba last Sunday. A perfect way to spend St Valentines Day as you may have gathered I'm no romantic. Tony and I celebrated our 20th anniversary a few years ago at the Gold Coast for the weekend but the reason we went was to watch my football team the Sydney City Roosters play. The way to my heart isn't flowers, jewellery or chocolates just take me to watch a game of sport, I like almost anything.
Ricky Ponting scoring another century. He is spectacular to watch him play.
Hauritz during warm ups
Chris Gayle didn't stick around as long as everyone would have liked.
Forget this guys name but he played really well.
Lights on, The Gabba in all it’s glory.
This was Will’s second game of cricket live, he was so cute to watch and got right into it.
Another wicket falls. Then the West Indies seemed to implode. What a shame. We had a great time except for the heat, it was so hot.
I haven't shared any layouts for a long time. I'm sorry about the scanning I was in a hurry and forgot how to do the whole thing lol. All the double layouts are from Cut and Paste , Pip’s double up packs. If you want to have a better look, click on the layout it should be bigger.
Off to Brisbane to watch the one day cricket match between Australia and West Indies. Bye for now Jackie
Things are slowly settling back into a routine. Lucy’s back to school and I'm back to work, I didn't cope well waking up early last week. I woke up at 4.50am and I leave for work at 5am, I still made it to work on time but it throws your morning out. Tess still isn't back to school, hopefully tomorrow. They moved to a new location and when they arrived last Monday there was still no furniture or internet connection so the students were sent home again. We have taken her out of mainstream school and she will be going to a school called “flexi school” It’s still a part of the high school she was going to but it is in a separated location to the school and I think there are only 15 students. The school caters for pupils that would otherwise leave school and only concentrate on maths and English. The students can go back to the main high school to do any other subject if they want to. I'm not a hundred percent happy with this but if it means Tess stays at school then so be it.
I'm not often home on the first day of school but was this year which excited me as I have taken photo’s of the girls since they have started school. Well this is what I got.
Second attempt
Third and final attempt. After this I gave up or should I say she was having no more of it and walked off.
Last Thursday we met some friends of Tony’s who are holidaying on the Coast for dinner at the Alex surf club. It was a good night, we didn't get home until 11 which might explain why I slept in on Friday morning.
Looking across to Mount Coolum
This was not mine although I wished it was.
Yesterday we went to Coolum to watch Mickey race, it was his first race back since he broke his wrist. I ended up taking 449 photos a bit excessive perhaps lol.
Love the first jump after the first corner, it’s chaos.
In the first heat Mick came second. He was in 2nd position when he came off his bike and dropped down to fifth then managed to get back to second
Mick is the closest bike M91. Unfortunately it was not to be Micks day just after this photo he came off and was run over by several bikes. The good news is he was okay, nothing was broken and the bike which was brand new is not too badly damaged. A very dejected Mick.
Anyway better get off here I have to go out to lunch at my favourite restaurant, Penefathings, Montville.
Bye for now
Jackie
